Tamakeri 04:39
If there’s a place Where the summer ends Where the heartache begins I know you’ll surely take me there If there’s a place Where my dreams are laid to rest Where I’ll never laugh again I know you’ll surely take me there I gave you my class ring We said we’d get married Now you don’t love me And now I know that there is a place Where the fountains dry Where all I do is cry I knew you’d surely take me there There is a place Where the leaves turn to gray Where I’m constantly in pain I knew you’d surely take me there You said I was yours While you were in his arms Now I have the memories And now he has you If there’s a place Where the summer ends Where the heartache begins I know you’ll surely take me there If there’s a place Where my dreams are laid to rest Where I’ll never laugh again I know you’ll surely take me there

about

TO BE RELEASED ON HALLOWEEN

Recorded in a dark dungeon outside Boulder, Colorado, TAMAKERI is the debut studio album by The Udder. It is a genre-bending musical rollercoaster that ranges from the most aggressive Metal to the lightest Jazz, and everything in between. Some examples include the Latin breakdown in The Organ Player Has Been Vaporized, the Cowboy Ballad in The Murder Room, and even the 50s throwback title track. The album is constantly unpredictable and relentlessly heavy.

The Udder was formed at CU Boulder by Brennen Schedler and Josh Mundt, two students in the college's Jazz department. Using their jazz backgrounds, they decided to apply the improvisational stylings of Jazz music to Metal using influences such as John Zorn, Ornette Coleman, Death, and At the Gates. The combination resulted in music that was heavily improvised but also extremely technical and heavy.

The majority of these songs were premiered at the band's 2019 Halloween Special at the Muse in Lafayette. Coming full circle, the album is being released on Halloween 2020 and will coincide with another performance at the Muse where the band will be playing Tamakeri in its entirety.
